Tour Band is an extra-curricular ensemble which meets once a week at the Carson Campus Band Room. This group is made up of students from grades 7-12 who have had at least 1 year of experience on their instrument. We play music to compete in festivals in Williams Lake and area as well is in Vancouver, Cuba and across Canada. Last year we traveled to Vancouver to participate in the Vancouver Kiwanis Band Festival where we achieved Gold for our performance. This year we are traveling with the Western Campus Grade 8 band to participate in the Con Brio Music Festival in Whistler, BC. We are very excited for what this year has in store for us!
We meet every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30pm until 5:00pm. It is not a lot of time to go through all the music, so it is important for all students to look at the music at home, and come see myself (at the Williams Lake Campus) or Mrs. Baumann at the Columneetza Campus to get help if needed. The senior band members are also able to help out during class as well, so just tap them on the shoulder and they can take you into a practice room to help you out :)

PLAYING OPPORTUNITY, October 2016 - please see Ms. Eilers for more info
BCMEA Honour Band: The BCMEA Honour Band is open to all students from grades 8-12. This is a fantastic opportunity where you audition against other high school students from across the province. All you need to do is to learn the material on your instrument, and record your audition. I have all the necessary equipment to record at school, so once you have learned the music, we will set up a time to record. This is a fantastic opportunity and you get to play with musicians from all over BC. The rehearsal dates and performance dates are usually late October and take place at the BC Music Educators Conference in Richmond, at the River Rock Hotel. Auditions won't happen until late March, but if you are interested, start learning your parts. Here is the website, where you can find all the information, http://bctf.ca/BCMEA/HonEns2013.html. It says 2013, but the audition material will be the same. All you have to do is scroll down, and find your instrument, print off the music and start learning it. If you need any help, please ask myself or Mrs. Baumann, and we would be happy to sit with you to go over the parts.
