MUSIC MONDAY - http://www.musicmonday.ca/ here you can find recordings, music and more information about this fantastic opportunity
This class is a great way to learn the basics of note reading, musicianship and learning how to work together as a group. Band is one of the only classes where you are required to work as a group to create a finished product. We are only as strong as our weakest player. Meaning, that in math, you work individually on your assignments and if you don't do your assignments it only affects you. Where as in band, if you do not practice each piece, your band will sound pretty crummy. So it is up to you to put in the work necessary to make the band sound like a well rehearsed ensemble.
Remember, if you feel you are struggling in class on your instrument, please come in and see me at lunch and I will be happy to help you. Do not just sit in class feeling frustrated or worse.... quit! I want you to succeed.
Even though this is your first year of playing in band, it is expected that you play at the concerts that are put on by the band department. The grade 7 band will be showcased and will play several songs, along with the grade 8 band and the Tour Band.

*PS. the beat boxing flute is the coolest!
